The „Lucian Blaga” University in Sibiu and the Romanian Society of Sociologists welcome you to the Annual Conference of the Sociology and Social Work Department of „Lucian Blaga” University in Sibiu, which will take place on 14-15 October, 2011.

The conference aims to bring together social science specialists from around the country with an interest in the topics defined by the 11 panels:

• Mobility, stratification and social change in contemporary Romanian social structure
• The Romanian Health System – problems, challenges, solutions
• Perspectives on family and children in today’s Romania
• Organisations and organisational change
• Current perspectives on the right to social care
• Principles and values in the provision of social services
• Social relations and political institutions in postmodernism
• Elections and democratic representation in the post-communist society
• Migration, tolerance and solidarity in Europe
• Rural and urban communities: quality of life, trust, cooperation
• Overall quality management in social services.

All those interested in participating are kindly asked to fill in the online registration form, including the contact details, the title of the paper and a 250-word abstract, by September 25, 2011.

The registration fee is 160 lei. The reduced fee, for registration before September 15, is 80 lei. The fee for RSS members and PhD students is 80 lei. The fee covers: inclusion in the panel and access to all other panels, the conference booklet, a participation certificate, 2 lunch voucher and 1 dinner voucher.

For participants looking for accommodation, places can be booked in advance for the student halls of Lucian Blaga University, Sibiu.
